NOT-MOAT

The project is located at the moat of the Rectory of Sevilla University where we set introduced a temporal device (or proposed an intervention) to revitalise this area, giving it a new use.

 

We do a carried out research about into the history and mostly the environment of the site in order to unlock its latent potential find the opportunities and trying to find its latent potential.

Proposal

We tacked this project creating different situations to give new vital experiences to the human development.

Our bracket here will be the tree and the student community as catalyst after doing researching we going to see 28 the project in app I declare place bad disclosure project is flexible as we say the tree will be our brackets we should do it or platforms in this place but it will grow up and it'll be extended to all the area.

We design an hybrid grid to occupied the space in a natural and ergonomic design way adapting it to the existing elements and using materials that help to integrate it with the environment.

To Observe.

This different platforms are supported by pre-existed the existing trees and a timber structure aswell. Each place intervention has got a different its own use but this is flexible. We try to give a different dimension to this moat creating sensations, building at different levels depending on the environment and the potential we found there.

We see in this images how the platforms are adapted to the nature, and some existent elements. Studying each point we decide what is the best use for every built, making of them spaces of quality and comfort.

As we said, the structure we use is timber, with gusset plate as joists. This way we have an easy way to build and to dismantle, which is another key of this project, being flexible to let it change, depending of the needs in every moment.

This different situations are connected by bridges, creating an ergonomic walk to enjoy, not just passed it. 

At the end we have a re-thought place where everybody is seeing a empty hole, we seeing an opportunity bringing this place back into use. being such an important place for students community will be a catalyst for the area as well regenerating it.
