Seville Transport Interchange Complex is a hybrid building: a mixture of bus station, metro station and a new concept of river station.
The programme was stretched along the western edge of the landscaped zone of the Guadalquivir.
The facade that overlooks the river is protected by a long cantilevered ¿roof?
The materials used int he interior mirror the exterior. The Transport Interchange Complex is predominantly faced with Corten steel and exposed concrete.
The absence of supporting walls means that the station is unrestrained in its internal usage, and allows easier circulation s between different s levels.
The river floor is one large circulation space separated from a part of the rive with grandstands.
A big skylight allows the light to flood into the main hall. The main hall soars and is flooded with light.

Paco, I think that you did an amazing job of combining the language from the course into the description of your Part 3 project. As someone who uses Plaza de Armas every day, I welcome your proposal with open arms. It's something that is badly needed.
ReplyDeleteI think that you describe the context and form very well. There are very few corrections but I have made suggestions which I hope you like.
The only thing is that when you said 'cantilever', it made me wonder what was 'cantilevered' as a cantilever is (and isn't) an object in itself. We'd usually say, the 'cantilevered roof' or 'cantilevered terrace'.
But it was a very good description of a very nice project. Well done!
